Other Ma’m?m?n say “None of your bounties we deny. To you is all Praise” when the Im?m recites [ فبأي آلا ربكما تكذبان]
‘ Then which of the Blessings of your Rabb will you both (jinn and human) deny?’. (1)
The had?th that states the aforementioned act is weak as stated by At-Tirmith? in his “J?mi‘” (no. 3291), Al-H?kim in “Al-Mustadrak” (vol. 2/p. 473), Ibn ‘Abdi in “Al-K?mil” (vol. 3/p. 1074) and (vol. 5/p. 1858), Ab? Nu‘aim in “Akhb?r Asbah?n” (vol. 1/p. 181) and Al-Baihaq? in “Ad-Dal?’il” (vol. 2/p. 232). The had?th is narrated by Al-Wal?d Ibn Muslim from Zuhair Ibn Muhammad from Ibn Al-Munkadir from J?bir to have said: ‘The prophet ( - صلى الله عليه وسلم -) once recited S?rat Ar-Rahm?n till its end then addressed his companions: ‘Why are you keeping silent? Indeed, the Jinn responded in a better way; whenever I recited “Then which of the Blessings of your Rabb you both (jinn and human) deny?” they would say: ‘None of your Blessings we deny, Oh our Rabb. To you is all praise’.
This chain of narrators is weak due to the fraud both Al-Wal?d Ibn Muslim and Zuhair Ibn Muhammad do -though the latter is considered an honest narrator. However, the narrations related from him by Sh?m? narrators are full of doubted statements. Muhammad Ibn Marw?n narrated the same narration from Al-Wal?d -as mentioned in “Ad- Dal?’il” (vol. 2/p. 232)- but still the former is one of the Sh?m? narrators, so the defect is still existing.
[7/ 40] The third: It is of Sunnah to say “Subh?naka Fa Bal?” [Glory be to you, Yes. Indeed] when the Im?m recites:
[ أليس ذلك بقادر على أن يحيي الموتى]
‘ Is not He (All?h ( - عز وجل -) who does that), Able to give life to the dead?’ (2)
This is affirmed in Musa’s Ibn Abi ?ishah had?th which states: ‘A man was once doing Sal?t at the roof of his house. Whenever he recited the ’?yah ‘Is not He (All?h ( - عز وجل -) who does that), Able
