in the face of Bid‘ah. There are so many similar cases like the one discussed. All?h ( - عز وجل -) knows what is best’. (1)

Regarding this point, Shaikh Muhammad Shamsul Haq Al-‘Ath?m ?b?d? said: ‘Since the Friday Sal?t is done instead of Thuhr Sal?t, one must never perform Thuhr Sal?t after the Friday Sal?t.

Indeed none of the Sah?bah, the T?bi‘?n the Im?ms, scholars and Muhaddith?n has ever done so since doing such an act is a Bid‘ah, the doer of which incurs a sin upon himself.

Such a Bid‘ah was originally practiced by some hanafis as mentioned in “Al-Bahrur R?’iq Sharh Kanzud Daq?’iq” ’. (2)

[2/ 62] It is worth mentioning here that the view -which states that if the post-Jumu‘ah Sunnah Sal?t is done at the mosque, it should be four Rak‘ahs and if done at home, it should be two- is totally baseless and lacks evidence.

The truth lies in the well-known had?th narrated in the two “Sah?h” which states: ‘The best of one’s Sal?t is the one done at home except the obligatory one’.

Accordingly, one is permitted to do post-Jumu‘ah Sal?t in the mosque -whether two or four Rak‘ahs. However, it is better to do them at home considering the apparent meaning of the aforementioned authentic had?th. (3)
