The had?th’s chain is very weak for Shuraikh has a very bad memory, J?bir is accused of lying and Ab? Ja‘far’s -Muhammad Ibn Al? Ibn Al-Husain- narrations from Amm?r are disconnected.
Ab? Nu‘aim narrated in his “Al-Hilyah” (vol. 7 / p. 61) through an authentic chain of narrators traced back to Sufy?n Ath-Tahwr? to have said: ‘One will be rewarded for doing Sal?t in accordance with the proportion in which he had full concentration’.
However, the following authentic had?th suffices us. It runs as follows: ‘One does his Sal?t and gets rewarded for only tenth, ninth, eighth, seventh, ... of it’.
56 - ‘Two men may do the same Sal?t, doing similar Ruk?‘ and Suj?d, but the difference between their Sal?t is similar to that between the earth and the sky’.
Both the great ‘All?mah Al? Al-Q?r? in his “Al-Masn?‘ F? Ma‘rifatil Had?thil Mawd?‘” (no. 461) and Ash-Shawk?n? in “Al-Fawa’idul Majm?‘ah” (p. 27) (no. 48) ranked this had?th to be “a forged one”.
57 - Both Shaikh Az-Zayn Al-‘Ir?q? -as reported by his son Ibn Al-‘Ir?q? “Tarhut Tathw?b” (vol. 3 / p. 66) -and Al-Q?r? in his “Al-Masn?‘” (no. 473) said that it is commonly narrated amongst people that whoever abandons Sal?tul Duh? sometimes will become blind. Accordingly; they abandon it completely. This view has no origin at all; it is indeed of Shait?n’s insinuations for people to seduce them leave acts of goodness.
58 - ‘Whoever helps those who do not do Sal?t even by a morsel [of food] is similar to the one who helps in killing all the prophets’.
In his “Ath-Thail”, As-Suy?t? ranked the had?th to be a forged one. See: “Al-Fawa’idul Majm?‘ah” (pp. 27 - 8) (no. 50).
